Work With what You Have
There was a clown who couldn’t smile Though he’d tried and tried. His mouth was frozen in a frown. With grease paint he painted on a smile That frightened all the children. The bearded lady saw his plight And helped him paint his face. In red she traced the curve of his frown By his eye, placed a rhinestone tear, And in his hand a paper rose. She kissed him on his cheek And whispered in his ear, “Do not worry, my dear friend. Let people see your gentle heart And they will do the smiling.”
