Story in the Past
        by Miss Wopplebop  (hobbes@Writing.Com)
You and I once held a gaze
With knowing in our eyes
And then we'd blink
So we could go
And lead our little lies.

Always in my mind I thought
That you and I would be
But then I'd turn
And there you were
Right there for me to see.

No matter how we thought it true
Your hand was not in mine
How much more
Was I to wait
How long was I to pine?

Now here we are
Some time has passed
The tables have been turned
And now you feel my bitter pain
You feel what I have yearned.

Our gaze is now much different than
The gaze we held before
For since I have
A love for me
Your heart I seek no more.
