Don't Get Your Hopes Down
The path to success

"Don't get your hopes up", that's what they say,
"Be contented to fail, or your heart will pay".
But dreams without hope cannot long endure,
Controlled by fear, you'll fail for sure.
You have the tools to find your own place,
But none ever finish when not in the race.

Prophets of failure will test your heart,
Of their own fears, on your spirit impart.
But success is a goal that's hard to reach,
Not found in gossip or figures of speech.
Extract their knowledge and go on your way,
With wisdom's wrath, Illusions can't stay.

You may lose a battle and still fight the war,
But can't cross the sea, safe on the shore.
Don't lose your dreams but reach for the stars,
A life can't be lived without a few scars.
Keep up your faith, expect to succeed,
It's only the hungry that fate tends to feed.

Only with hope can your soul ever thrive,
and dreams not believed will never arrive.
All the advancements we now enjoy,
Came from those with hope to employ.
Many great champions have graced our midst,
With one thing in common, they simply persist.
