Too late.
Much too late.

Death was at the door,
blood seeping across the floor.

How could this happen,
this pain,
this hate.

Why did you give me this awful fate?

The knife you used,
to cut me down,
now lays motionless,
beneath my gown.

You saw too late.
My love, my hate.
Oh, how you saw much too late.

Skin loose,
blood dripping.

Lust fills your face,
as you laugh insanely,
calling my name,
pleading, oh, how can it be?

Fingers dig deep,
into skin and bone,
tearing flesh,
muscle is shown.

Too late.
Much too late.

Do you care why I hate?
I hate your face,
your ugly mask,
the one you use,
when fulfilling this task.

Why?
Why this hate.
I loved you.
Forever.
Could this be it,
the last breath I ever take?

Too late.
You saw too late.
Much too late.

Your tears cover my face,
as you rape me in disgrace.
Your hunger,
your mind,
had finally crossed that line.

Why?
Why this hate.
I loved you.
Forever.
Yet...
I saw too late.
Much, much too late.

Author's Explanation (Was required for one of the contests, so please don't rate based on this.): This is about a girl who fell in love with a man who could not control his dark ways. He ends up trying to kill her when she finds out what he was really like, and rapes her in the process. Though he loved her, he let his desires get the best of him, while the girl's love for him blinded her until-it was too late.

*Note: This was done for a contest(actually two different contests, but one didn't use a prose), so the bolded words are the prose I chose.*
