The programmed response

Sitting,
thinking,
what is going on up there?

wondering what wondering is,
thinking about thinking and then
not thinking about not thinking and then
rethinking the rethinking.
I am drowning in all of this thinking.

still sitting,
still thinking,
what is going on out there?

people,
do they care?
should they care?
as they sit and stare.

sitting still.
still thinking.
what is going on over there?

people killing people killing men killing women killing children
paying for oil and dirt with hurt and blood of people.
and this is the currency of war?

still sitting still.
still thinking.
up there, out there, over there,
do I care?
should I care?
as i sit and stare.
