Snow
For Michelle

Snow,
The essence of the sky
Brought down in Winter
To heighten Man’s joy.

The gloomy darkness
Of the clouds,
Howling and pelting
High above the ground.

Each tiny drop,
Never a one similar,
Falling and forming
The artwork of Winter.

Snowflakes of crystal
Descending with care,
Amongst clusters of children
With frost in their hair.

Mittens and boots
Sliding in sleet,
Bitter cold ignored
With rosy cheeks.

As the footprints walking
On the sands of time,
Pause to enjoy
Winter’s heart’s gift.
