Flying; the lesson
writer's cramp: poem or story about birds

have you ever tried
to teach a bird
how to fly?

It was several years ago
when I lived near
the fair grounds.

I don't know what kind
of bird it was
nor was I really sure
if we could teach him
to fly away from the cold
metal bleachers where
he had roosted.

Did he actually fly
would be the next
question to ask.

I don't know.
