Christmas/Birthday Memories 2006

I always have my family over for Christmas and my Birthday which is December 21.My son Jason, his wife Erin, Erin's parents, Fred and Sandy, my parents John and Loretta, my stepmother Betty and my father-in-law Raymond but he passed away in April of 2006. We missed him. He was with us in spirit.

We enjoyed a good dinner of meatballs, macaroni salad, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs, chicken salad, cheese cubes, chocolate chip cookies and Dairy Queen Cake. The meal was enjoyed by all.

I like to play Christmas music by Celine Dion, Perry Como, Glen Campbell, Classical Christmas music and Bing Cosby. Imagine my surprise when my son said he wanted to know if I had any Johnny Cash music. I love Johnny Cash but my son listens to Marilyn Manson and THAT music! I was more then happy to play Johnny Cash. Mom danced and we sang Ring Of Fire and It Ain't Me Babe. Fred and my father didn't. Betty laughed. We were having a good time. I would like to think that Johnny Cash and my father-in-law were singing with us.

We opened presents. I got my son gargoyle lights, money, gift cards and candy canes. I got my daughter-in-law a Dragon incense burner, gift cards and money. My mother's gift of make up and a purse by Elizabeth Arden got sent accidently to my sister in Florida. I will pick it up when Ray and I visit her in March. Mom got the leather gloves and Gone With the Wind Ornament, my PASSIONS Soap Opera Thermas Cup that she wanted. I bought presents for all my guests.

I got some nice presents. I got a Victorian Doll dressed like a little girl. I also got Snowbabies with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Who doesn't love Mickey and Minnie? I got a tennis bracelet with a circle on it and a pearl watch. I also got a glass Merry Go Around on a mirror, These gifts I got from my parents. My husband got me a Vintage Career Barbie{I collect Barbies}, Black Hills gold heart locket and a ceramic Toto Planter from the Wizard Of Oz Store{Which is in Chesterton, Indiana}. I got a beautiful Princess and Knight Painting from my son and his wife. I think it's Guinevere and Launcelot. Jason, Erin and I talked about how we born in the wrong time. I felt like I should have been born a Princess in England in the 1500's. Erin thinks she should have born back then,too. She loves dragons and my son like gargoyles. Maybe we have lived before. My son and his wife also got me a small crystal boat. The Black Pearl! I love the Pirates movies! I also got a neat black hat, scarf and gloves sets and neat lighthouse ornament. My sister sent me a Precious Moments Anniversary Clock, Lighthouse candle topper and candle.

My friends at work got me SEX AND THE CITY DVDS and a musical porcelain doll dressed in green velvet.

Angel, my best friend Angel sent me some nice candles, cat soap, angel pin and Christmas Wreath Pin.

I got three Merit Badges, c-notes for my Birthday from Jem, Ricki, Sherri Gibson, Kris, GeminiStar and an Awardicon from 4provincesHOOVES for my Christmas Wreath Poem. I had a great Birthday and Christmas. I am so happy for all my friends here at Writing.com and of course, The StoryMaster and StoryMistress. I look forward to another year with my family, friends and online friends. I hope we all have a blessed New Year! Love and Hugs: Megan
