I smile at the darkness
When I don't want to be sad.
I laugh at the nothingness
When I don't want to be mad.

I know you think I'm crazy
I know you think It's odd,
That no matter what you do,
I'll only ever nod.

You don't know my past,
And you don't know my name.
You look at other people,
And think that I'm the same.

No one looks beyond the mask,
Or underneath the skin.
They see the happy smile outside
And ignore the pain within.
