My Dad
A poem I wrote for my father for Christmas. Has sentimental value to both of us...

When you are broken,
Wings fallen, dreams shattered,
And you tumble through the darkness,
He’ll be there to catch you…

When you are angry,
Burning within, freezing without,
Betrayed by one you loved,
He’ll be there to soothe you…

When you are afraid,
Shadows creeping, nightmares in the dark,
Chained by doubt and terror,
He’ll be there to protect you…

He’ll be there to fight away the darkness,
To shun the evil, to battle the despair,
He’ll bring you comfort when you are lost,
He’ll be your guardian, your shield,
All because he loves you…

Thank you, Daddy…
