"Tropical Holidays"
Warm winds are blowing and palm trees are swaying. People are laughing and music is playing. We put colored gifts down beneath our new tree. A tropical Christmas here in Waikiki. No pine trees or fir trees, this evergreen night, From palm fronds hang orchids, a sultry delight. The lowly lights glow on each tropical vine, With red bells to jingle where they intertwine. We call herald greetings across the warm beaches. We dance and we laugh where the salt water reaches. Peaceful and happy, we’ve nothing to fear. We hope all can share in a sunshine wrapped year. Rhyming couplets – 11 syllable lines.
