"Some people think being lonely really means being free" -Amos Lee

People always try to tell you that the grass is greener on the other side, and in most cases it's true.  Thankfully, I'm not most people.
I prefer to be alone rather than in the company of others.  I prefer absolute silence over the busy noises of city life.  I prefer simplicity to the advancements that claim to make our lives more convenient.
People think I'm crazy and I probably am.  But to me, people equal chaos.  The more social interaction you expose yourself to, the greater the risk of encountering conflict.  For most people that is a reasonable trade-off which requires no second-guessing, for who can survive without love?  But as I mentioned before I'm not like most people.
What about loving yourself?  Loving nature or animals?  These things may not embrace you, caress you, make love to you, but they'll never do you wrong.  And if you listen very closely, you may just hear them whispering softly, "I love you, too."

Perhaps these are just the words of a lonely heart.

                                ------------------------------------------------------

For as long as I can remember, I've always had romantic fantasies of every person on Earth disappearing in one way or another.  Whether it was from nuclear war, the Apocalypse, or everyone leaving this shell of a world to go rape a new planet.
I'd be left to nurse all of Mother Earth back to health.  She'd be my provider, my playground, my best friend.  I'd finally learn what it means to be truly free, with no laws, boundaries, or restraints.
Go ahead and call me selfish, but I would never in my life trust anyone else with this type of freedom.  We all know if given the choice between good and evil, there will always be that individual that chooses evil.  Humans are the only animals that have the ability to act on their dreams and ideas for personal gain.

How ironic that our greatest blessing is also our greatest curse.
