A TIME TO REMEMBER

There is, I once read, a time to be born
and a time to die, a time for tearing down
and a time for building up - and I think
hard on this, a smile replacing my frown.

For above all else, there is a time for us
to stop and reminisce, and to remember.
Another friend gone, I was told today;
he missed the cold snows of December.

BUT - it is a time to remember, and
remember I shall, the smiles we shared,
all the laughter and all the good times,
knowing well that each of us truly cared.

Although each of us must travel onward
when the time comes for us to leave,
we live on as long as we remain in hearts
that remember us, and do not grieve.

There is a time to remember our friends,
being thankful for having known each one,
A time to remember and look ahead
to the time of our own setting sun.
