Last Walk
A cold, lonely road.

Avg Rating: (10)
She walks, afraid to look around her,
Afraid to see that which bars her way.
The relics of the past grab and pull,
Pushing, tugging, forcing her to go where she must.

She walks, afraid to open her eyes,
Afraid to see someone who cares.
The shadows of the present laugh and jeer,
Pointing, bragging, forcing her to scream that she can't.

She walks, afraid to stop,
Afraid to turn back.
The umbrage of the future is too dim,
fading, waning, forcing her to stop the fight.

She walks, afraid to live,
Afraid to try.
The reality of it all hits home,
banging, clanging, smashing into her brain...

She takes that last walk, giving in,
giving up, renouncing the life left inside her.
Darkness descends and nothing is left
Only the road.
