Joy from the Shadows
Sorrow is all around, It cast its shadow down, It hovers over ever one, It tries to drown out all that’s fun; It seeps into each waking hour, Standing like an ominous tower, A little laughter here and there, Creeps out of the despair; A child will sit upon a swing, Other children will stand and sing, A child plays with some dear toy, And out of the shadow of sorrow comes joy.
