Lies and Alibis
Listening to your instincts will never steer you wrong.

Lies and alibis worry a troubled mind,
To the surface they rise, leaving doubt inside.
Pushing love and contentment aside,
Bringing tears that fill sky blue eyes.
Drops that roll with constant flow-
Filling an ocean that stands below
In disbelief I feel strange and also mesmerized,
Promises you made, giving hope to our lives.
Nothing hurts more than when you trust,
Finding out from an accidental bust.
Mind games you play, taking advantage of me
Respect you never give and I have not seen,
Always to shift the blame, lashing back with harsh screams.
You always get defensive especially when wrong.
I can not fight you, your strength too strong.
The denial of your true self, I see now it has revealed.
Accepted it I have, with its pound to my heart with cold steel.
I should have let you go when my instincts spoke-
Warnings with stomach aches, but I failed to realize.
Shame on me for believing your disguise.
