Follow the ABC's to the End of the Earth
(Each line starts and ends following the alphabet from A-Z. An AlphA Poem)

A huge rock pierces the heavens as a
Blinding light trails behind, a bomb
Created by the death of a distant star, a classic
Destiny written many times over, a doomed
Earth lies in its eventual path. An apogee,
Forecast through earth's many prophets. A belief
Guaranteed to end all life in a menacing,
Horrific way. Through God’s almighty wrath,
Instantaneously, the earth shall bear fire and tsunami,
Joined as one, ending all life. Silently, the Hindu Samaj
Kneel in prayer, seeking solace, as this devastating rock
Looms in their thoughts. Around the world, many people still
Mindlessly ignore the forthcoming apocalypse through calm
Naïve as they carry on with their simple lives. The Sun,
Orange and bright, shall soon be hidden from all life as no
Pulse on earth will ever again feel its warmth; temperatures drop
Quickly freezing our beloved planet. The rock shall soon be at Max Q,
Rapidly breaking through the atmosphere in a spectacular,
Streaming ball of fire. Many will watch in horror, calls
To loved ones made for one last time. Those who survive will not
Understand why all living things shall be made to suffer. Impromptu
Villages constructed for shelter and warmth, an improv
World remains without dreams or hope. A suddenly raw
Xeric land, a desert as far as the eye can see. This climax
Yields for nothing. Soon earth shall be a distant memory, a great old story,
Zapped of all life by a simple rock, and as they say, “That’s Showbiz”.
