THE LONELY PLACE

Oh, it must be a lonely place,
Where only strangers live,
Cool and distant is each face,
without a smile to give.

Where no one feels the sorrow
in any other heart,
and none can share rejoicing
on any other's part.

Oh, that must be a dismal place.
So comfortless and bare,
without a word or sign of love.
I'm glad I don't live there!
