My Page of Thanks, and Thanksgiving

This is an on-going list of my thanks to those members, and non-members, of WDC who have helped to make my little blog, and the journey through the valley, such a blessing in my life.

I had to take it off the front page of the Blog because I was failing to add those names of persons who mean so much to me due to the length. They deserve a special place. This is the place especially for them. Instead of lengthening the Blog header, they get their own page!

I should tell you that I have not been unthankful for all these months! I have been slightly busy, and remiss in my public acknowledgement of those who have given me countless reasons to be thankful. I will get them caught up. Today, I wish to acknowledge the majestic logo created for The Christian's Blog Ring by my super friend, iKïyå§ama-R.I.P Whitney H. . I asked her to create a "brandable" logo that would explain, somehow, the group's purpose, function and mission. That is just absolutely what she did. After a week, I still just look and look at it. Thanks for the perfect reflection of the Blog Ring, Kiya.

This holiday season has been, like this entire year, very peculiar. I have visited my dear friend Sara and her family. I have received many wonderful presents, and given a couple, even. I have wonderful friends both in West Frankfort, IL and here in Columbia/Nashville, TN. The wonder of this time has included some amazing gifts from my Secret Santa, reviews more than any author has a right to ask, and gifts of friendship from some of the most amazing people on the planet. I want to thank Sara, Cedric, Matt, Katie, BudBud, Bruno and Maxi for allowing me to come into their home for this extended visit, opening their home and hearth--and some very large hearts. I hate to even attempt to name the writers and friends who have gifted me with signatures, images, reviews, awards, GPs, and some of the kindest and caring words a person could ever have. You have encouraged me to write, and write I am. Two study series', a learning course, new original words (including more than 114k on the new book for NaNo 2009), and a new sense of belonging here. I also wish to make notice of "my girls", dear friends who have loved, supported, and encouraged me during some very difficult days at my home in West Frankfort, Illinois. They love me all the time, regardless of how much of a curmudgeon I truly can be. I love them, too. More than they know, or could possibly suspect. I have some guy friends that I love with all my heart, too. You know who you are. Thank you for a wonderful ending to 2009, and a joyful beginning to 2010. I think it's time we all caught a bit of a break. Let's continue enjoying it together, okay?

I'd like to thank all those people who, in spite of so much, have stayed so loyal. This journey continues. It would not be possible without your love, support and encouragement. I don't forget much, often. I will never forget you. Thank you. I love you, too.

This is a month's worth of thanks, with a very special thanks to some very special people in my life. Every day, they make my life a much more wonderful place. I love them, and I appreciate the kindness they have shown, and do continue to show me. This is special because these particular friends have delivered their kindness to my mailbox--at home! I very much feel as if they have literally touched me, and allowed me to touch them in a very special way:

Thank you to deborahowen for her gift to me. This, beyond our friendship, was a mission of mercy. It was a very special effort on your part, and very much appreciated on my part.

Thank you to Kenzie for her gift to me. It was amazing the way the gift met the need in simple awareness. Yours was, in every way, a special touch from Dad. I hope you felt it much more than I did. I'm just not sure that's possible.

Thank you to PastVoices for her gift card to me today. It was, as it said, a complete blessing for me. I will treasure it always. I hope it was a more complete blessing for you.

After a bit of a dry spell, and a longer bit of a "frump", one of my friends along this journey gifted me a very special signature. I happen to like him--A LOT!

Yep, it's been a bit of a dry spell. Not because I don't give thanks each and every day, mind you. But It has been a while since I have been allowed to write new words. I wrote a piece for the July, 2007 "Short Shots" contest entitled "Message In a Bottle". Today, (two days before the contest closes), I received this in my mailbox from Rose:Back in School :

I wish to humbly thank Rose:Back in School , and her Heavenly Roses group for their kindness. We won't know until August 15th, 2007 if "Message" wins the Contest. But we know today that it has surely won a very high prize, indeed! Thank you so very much.

This was sent to me this morning by my beloved cousin, Anne B. Royster. This gift is from a friend, Mr. Thomas Whitfield. This image now appears prominently on the Miss Virginia Website. Anne is the Web Master of that site. Thanks, Cuz. I love you, too.
