Dawn M. B. Fields, Jr. Copyright© 2005-2007 by Grand Organ Productions, LLC The darkness of the winter night lies languid upon my soul. Far off, a cricket chirps, the full moon's only accompaniment against a cloudy backdrop. The silence wraps tightly around me clinging, like a deep blanket of down. The still cold silence brings with it the promise of snow. Far off, over the horizon, silently splitting the night sky, is hope. A new shade of gray against the night sky, giving the hope of renewal, spills from the East into the quiet silence of that last calm moment. Nothing moves. No sound is there to be heard in reverent applause for this, the newest moment in all the Universe. Dawn.
