"Waiting for Judgement ..."
I used to come home after work And turn on my TV. Take off my shoes and make myself A cup of good hot tea. I called it my “relaxing time” But now I’m not so sure. The things I’m seeing every night Make me feel insecure. I try to watch the evening news, But I can’t bear to see The thefts and murders, lies and drugs All there in front of me. A man abducted two young boys. A mother killed her kids. Why would someone do such a thing That law and God forbids? Attorneys waving to the crowd; A murderer set free. A loophole in the law was found After his killing spree. A husband beats his wife to death. My mind is going numb! With prostitution, child abuse, What has our world become? When will this madness ever stop? All we can do is pray And hope that God will intervene Before our Judgment Day. Meter: 8-6-8-6 Rhyme: a-b-c-b
