songs of a cold winter's night
a love sonnet about keeping warm at night

I'll sing those songs of a cold winter’s night
sweet words of love while in my wildest dreams
with all my might I gently hold you tight
now watching you in love, your blue eyes beam

we snuggle close under the eiderdown
our bodies lovingly entwined and free
now kept thus warm, we'll laugh and tumble 'round
then sing those songs meant just for you and me

at dawn, after midnight prancing and sleep
we wake with heartfelt whispering and joy
sweet music we make, no reason to weep
rare tears of happiness we may deploy

cold arms of winter dare not take our mirth
our lives tuned as one, love is our rebirth
