Breathe on
Broken heart poetry

Alone, I fell.
Broken and ashamed,
I wept for the loss of you.
For the moments we made soar,
and the minutes we wasted.
My heart bruised,
I struggled to gain my footing.
To stand proud and true,
even though I was lost.
Time crept by,
and slowly I healed.
Though at night,
I dream of your voice.
I smell your scent
as if it still lingered on my skin.
I imagine the weight of your arm,
lying across my side.
Holding me close,
warm and safe.
Yet, you are not there
I am alone, and cold.
In dreams we still soar,
in life I just breathe on.
