The 3 Muskateers
A poem about friends.

We spent those last summer days
Getting high
Hot days with no clouds in the sky
Laying on the green freshly cut grass
Not thinking about how long these days would last
Playing badminton stoned in the sun
The three of us could take on anything or anyone
Walks on the beach
Talks of dreams almost out of reach
Careless fun of those two weeks
Before we all went separate ways
At night drinking wine smoking pot and feeling fine
The discussions during drunken high philosophical conversation
Laying out all our fears and contemplating death
Made me appreciate these times on this spinning earth
Now there are kids, relationships, continents, work and wives
Filling up and enriching our expanding lives
How things have changed since then, during those unexpecting days
Continuing to survive in our own unique ways
The three musketeers
Don't worry comrades
We will remain the most complete friends throughout
All of our years
Those summer days will be lived again
Even more important to do so now
As we don't know when.
