Hidden Lies Every face is veiled by hidden lies, Whether realized or not. A smile beams when sorrow reigns, A lie that protects both sender And receiver, unknown. Some hide evil with a grin, Deliberately false and cruel. Others, desperately ashamed Of the person they may be, Falsify their illusive lives. Hurt and wounded victims Often hug the one who harms. Yes, we all show a false face, Whether we mean to or not, Each behind a hidden lie.
