The Answer
When you pray, what are you looking for?

Lord, I come to You this morning
With a heart that's loaded down.
By such a heavy pile of needs and fears.
There are questions I can't answer,
There are problems I must solve.
And I'm afraid of what is coming next.

I know all that you are feeling,
For I walked this world before you.
I'm the answer to your questions.
And the source of all your peace.
I can see tomorrow and know the way to go.
Are you looking at the problem, or at Me?

Lord, I do not understand it.
Why did things turn out this way?
When I know You could have made it right.
When my soul cried out to You,
And my heart was nearly breaking,
Did You even hear? Where were You?

Yes I heard you, My Beloved,
I was standing by your side.
But the thing for which you asked,
Was not be the best for you.
Sometimes a loving father must say, "No."
Are you looking for the answer, or for Me?

Lord, sometimes it overwhelms me,
There's so much I have to do.
And I don't even know where I should begin.
It is much more than I can bear,
And all that I must carry bows me down.

That's why I'm your burden bearer.
Let Me take it, let it go.
And take My light yoke upon you.
I am a gentle Master,
And will not give you more than you can bear.
Are you looking at your burdens, or at Me?
