I hear a child crying
poetry about the inner child we sometimes face.

I hear a child crying in the night,
ever so softly your pain sings out.
I hear a child crying,

Like a song of the ocean tides
I hear you cry- but I find you not.

I call out, "who's there",
No answer, No reply.
You are in the walls,
blocked with regrets,
there, I hear you cry.

I hear a child crying,
for the time that has pasted,
when life was mean and cold.
and friendships did not last.

I know the sound ,of constant groaning,
I hear the depths of your very soul.
Longing to know freedom,
from the memories made of old.

I get up from my desk,
I look for you,
I try to find the sound,
which room are you in?
And where are you bound?

But I find you not.
I search for you,
high and low,
I look up to the ceiling,
and down to the floor.

And I wonder,
where you could be?
And then, I realize,
the cries that I hear,
are coming,
from within me!
