The Longing

Slowly now the light is fading
all the while anticipating
Night is coming, dark and deep
time for me to go to sleep

For in my dreams I see you there
Your eyes so clear, your long dark hair
I see your face, I see your smile
If only for a little while.

I hear your voice, strong and deep
It makes  me laugh, it makes me weep.
I reach for you, you take my hand
you draw me slowly to the sand.

I rest my head upon your chest
beating hearts breast to breast
hold me close don't let me go
kiss me long, kiss me slow.

Take me to that special place
make for me a sacred space
tell me that you long for me
before the morning light I see.

As the night gets washed away
with the coming of the day
I find myself longing, waiting
for the night, anticipating.

Now you are here and I'm afraid
are my debts of karma paid
could you really be the mate
to seal me in my cosmic fate.
