Parting Long since you left my arms your warmth remains. The softness of your voice still brushes my ear. Even now, your touch lingers. We parted with a kiss and a promise of next time. I count the heartbeats and measure each breath until again you fill my arms. I sit alone with my words and with them try to recapture moments of our togetherness. But, words are no substitute for a smile, a caress, a kiss. As sleep overtakes me I leave my words And take my thoughts of you To dreams … Where never do we part.
