Can't you just pretend?

I sit here tears running in swells down my face. My heart wounded and raw hanging like ripped pieces of fabric. All I asked for was one day to be together,to share the joys of laughter, to have fun.We would get the perfect tree and hang so many years worth of handmade memories up.But you said no again. Instead you want to pay bills. Can't you tell it's not even school. It's just the time you don't spend with us? But no, you love your work too much to tell that we are slowly slipping away from you. I know you don't but couldn't you just for once care about our family....about me. No, I know already because its happened before, so I'll just take those ripped pieces and slowly start to sew them back until they rip once more.
