There are many different types of riders with different mounts you see.... Riders who consider dragons superior, while others consider the wolf to be the superior mount. Because of this constant argument, the 2 types of riders split up into different clans which have been warring for the better half of a century. These are the wolf riders led by a man known as Lupin and the dragon riders led by a woman known as Saph. Now that you know the history of this war I shall begin in present time with a certain conflict between two particular riders of opposing sides, Sam (the Wolf Rider), and Kren (The Dragon Rider) that will change the course of history.
"Faster Moon... We cannot be caught or they will torch us!" yelled the Sam as he and his mount Moon, a large, graceful black wolf covered in horizontal silver streaks along its head and flanks, were dodging and weaving back and forth between trees as a large dragon was flying overhead, spouting dark red flames at the pair, making the whole forest into charcoal as it pursued its landlocked quarry. "Damnit, they are quick" muttered Kren as he conjured up a fireball of his own using his magic, and threw it at the Wolf he was chasing, which almost impacted the creature, but instead singed its tail as it kept on running through the trees, dodging each of the dragons dark flames. "Dust, lets fly down lower and try to lead them to the Wall of the Quarter Moon" said Kren as Dust, his dark brown, majestic looking dragon, descended rapidly and began the complex weaving through the trees, chasing the Wolf Rider and his companion until, like they had hoped, their prey had reached a dead end, a large cliff wall that extended in a semicircle. "Damnit.. You know how to get out of this one Moon?" Asked Sam to his companion as Moon merely gave him a nod and turned back towards the pursuing Dragon, which worried Sam. Next thing he knew Moon was charging forward, weaving between burning flame after flame until she was right up on the dragon, tearing at its face with her fangs and claws. "Gah!" Kren screamed out in pain as one of the claws caught his side and he fell off the side of his precious mount. As he got up he saw the young man at the end of the canyon standing with his blade drawn, walking slowly and deliberately closer... holding his sword, a bright yellow blade that looked as if it glowed with the moons light. So Kren too drew his blade, crimson red and sharp, and charged forward. As their blades clashed repeatedly, swords hitting both skin and armor, drawing blood and bending steel, the battle behind them continued furiously as both riders and mounts fought to the death. As Moon was still clinging on for her life to the neck of the Dragon, Dust, who was dying, the large dragon with its dying breath emitted a large ember flame that set Moon aflame, and both fell to the ground, flesh, scales, and fur burning as Moon still had Dust in her grip and the flame burned and crackled in the night as both slowly died from the battle between each other. The two riders stopped as their swords were an inch from each others necks, and looked with a dumb, pained expression at their dead mounts a few yards away. "This fight was dumb to begin with... what was it about anyways? Simply because I am a Wolf Rider and you are a Dragon Rider was no reason for this fight... we both lost our best friends this day, look... Moon is dead and so is your dragon" said the Wolfrider as a tear escaped his eye and he lowered his blade, and proceeded to walk away. "I will get you back for this, I promise you. Moon was my best friend and you and your mount killed her, but at least she took one of you with her. It is just too bad that I have not the heart right now to take your life, but I will soon enough." Sam said this in a quiet, unattentive tone as he walked away into the night. "Well I will get you too! You just wait Wolf boy!" Kren said this and then turned towards his dead mount, fell to his knees, and cried as the sun began to come up over the horizon.
