Feeling Your Warmth
feeling the warmth of another and finding what life may be about

Walking in to warmth,
A kind look in your eyes.
Knowing I'm cared about
Feeling your touch,
Sensing your pride -
Finally I'm home

This is my home:
Filled up with warmth,
Brimming with pride.
I can look with calm eyes,
Can feel gentle touch -
This is what life should be all about.

Walking around, moving about
Going from room to room in our home
Stopping a moment to feel your touch
Stroking your back, feeling your warmth
Looking around, meeting your eyes...
Before you decide you must have your pride.

You turn from me, head held high with pride
I sigh knowing what this is about.
My frown is met with coldened eyes,
Begging me to never again leave you at home.
So, gone is your warmth,
Put on hold is our touch.

Time still flows, until you're ready for touch
But again, it's a matter of control and of pride
Giving your time, giving your warmth
Watching me as I move about -
Reminding me that this is your home
Telling it all with meows, tail, and eyes.

Night turns to morning - I open my eyes
Your softness begs for my touch
I oblige before leaving our home.
Smiling, thinking of you: my pride
As I realize what life is about:
Caring for creatures, sharing your warmth

Cats have eyes, filled with great honor and pride,
Have bodies inviting to touch, spirits that know what life is about,
Energy that makes a house a home, filling it always with warmth.
