A short poem I wrote for class, using water imagery.

Have you ever
noticed how the
sun reflects upon
the morning dew?

Or how rain
drops glisten
on silky
petals new?

Have you ever
followed to
the river’s
winding end?

Or entered in
a water fight
with a long
lost friend?

Have you ever
tasted the
bitter salt
of tears?

Or comforted
a child who
is drowning
in their fears?

Can you
truly live
never leaving
the water’s edge?

Or will you
slip and tumble
from the eerie
rain soaked ledge?
