A Suicide's Prayer
This was written during a dark time in my life.

This was written during a dark period in my life. I was under a lot of stress and wrote this as an alternate to the well-known, "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" prayer. This one better summed up my feelings.

As I lay to sleep, this pact I seal;
I pray that darkness my soul will steal.
If I should die in some dark place,
That's one less day I'll have to face.
So while my body dormant lies,
Sap the fires from these eyes.
Steal the life from this still frame,
For in death there is no shame.
And as my spirit doth leave this place,
I'll find sweet solace in death's embrace.
