Crossed the Sea, May 11th, 2006 12:40am

I crossed the Sea for you
There I was on my island,
my home, my safe treasure and
you landed here in my house.
From the mainland, a vision
of dreams that I had hungered for.

Seduced me to step off this island
And join the whole world.
Persuaded me to explore all possibilities.

So I joined you on your beautiful ship.
Traveling, enjoying the journey and adventure.
Enamored to discover new ground.

Thought it was just us on this wonderful voyage,
Only to learn later that you already had an island.

Taken aback was I, confused, distraught.
Why, why, why, did you not tell me of your real devotion?
Was this exploration a farce to captivate me
and believe in you as the Captain?
Did you think by not revealing your other
discovered territories that I would be
reluctant to leave mine?

Choices were given.
I could take the safety boat and row back
to my island without you or
I could remain, gain knowledge of fresh
beginnings. I chose the latter.

Devastated, heartbroken, in pain to realize
the weight of our dilemma.
How do we move forward from our
mutual fondness?
Learning, we can only operate fully
as commanders on this passage.

Here we are now. On the Sea.
You have left your island and together we are
expanding our search for untouched ground.
Separating our unison from disrupting our gains.
Keeping our focus on building undiscovered land.
Yet, internally, secretly, forever respecting, admiring,
appreciating and tenderly loving our union.
I Crossed the Sea for you.
