Dear Me,
Listen here, Dummy! In case you haven’t noticed, that lazy muse of yours has been slacking off a lot lately. You’re never going to achieve your dream of becoming a recognized author if you don’t submit work for publication, and that means writing fresh material on a regular basis. You need to give that tottering old fogy a swift kick in the buttocks and get him back on track. Even if that shiftless dawdler can’t accomplish the mission, the resourceful Isa Danton of "The Terrace (CLOSED)" Then there’s the poetry. I know, you’re teaching those classes at "Invalid Item" You’ve also been neglecting your reviewing responsibilities, allowing your name to slide ignominiously off the magic top hundred list. Get your motor back in gear and start writing two constructive reviews every day. If all that isn’t enough to get your creative juices flowing, there is a plethora of contests available to spark your imagination and kick-start the engine of creation. Make yourself a note to enter at least one contest each month. That should be enough to ignite a flurry of composition that will eliminate any chance of that cursed affliction known as writer’s block shackling your natural creative instincts. Your responsibilities as manager of the Market Tips department at the A-1 Writing Academy provide both the incentive to keep your market list up-to-date as well as ready access to identify the markets most suitable for your own work. With all those valuable resources at your disposal, all you have to do is banish those heinous demons of doubt and stop procrastinating. Adding all the inspiration and support of the internal writing groups and general WDC community, you should be able to submit at least one piece for publication each month. You can’t publish what you don’t submit! Finally, you need to take better care of yourself. A bag of tortilla chips with some bean dip and a cold beverage is NOT a balanced diet. That microwave oven is a handy appliance that lets you prepare a healthy meal in very little time with a minimum amount of mess. Also, don’t forget to take that morning stroll every day to keep that ticker pumping the way it should. That may seem like quite a lot to ask, but it’s not like you have a real job consuming all your time and energy. All you do is sit around playing with that pesky cat. So get off your duff and get to work, you lazy twit, before all this emotional exertion involved in keeping you motivated gives me the big one that will send me to "The Ultimate Workshop" As always, I remain your faithful alter ego in pursuit of glorious achievement. Yours truly, Me
