Charcoal and Ivory
Wild exterior, lost interior.

The charcoal curve of his cheek,
Splashed with ivory bliss
Boldly tossing
In the fresh, raw air

A piercing scream
He lets loose
Renting the air
With a trembling might

But through his strength
And fearsomeness
And his love
Of destruction

Stare into his eyes
And all you will see
Is a soft, lonely heart
Desperately searching for solace.

Past his hooves
Of metallic icy quality
Sharper than even
A fresh steel blade

Past his mass
Of writhing, wild hair
Dancing ruthlessly
In the wind

Past the stones
That are thrown wild
In the wake
Of his awesome speed

And you will see
A restless soul
That needs a peace
To make it still

He raises his hooves
Kicking them high
Stabbing
The cold night air

But it is all a show
A bold façade
Hiding a lost, scared
Spirit.
