JUST A BIT O' IRELAND

We all are here living in the world.
We all have a history we can all talk about.
And that history makes us who we are.
From mother to father, son and daughter
we all have a history we can't hide.
It's history that forms the present
and shapes the future
and it's my history that is my pride.

I've been born and bound to the new land
of the mighty and strong.
If you look closer inside of me
you'll find more of the world
than the land I've known.
I have a history of greatness and strength,
past famine to modern day world.
Yet you look about and see people
of all greatness still living in houses of old stone.
Without this past would we know how
potatoes taste or how great a
St. Patrick's Day celebration is.
If you look deep inside of me
and my blood that runs, I am American
if that is what I am.
But if you look closer you'll see
just a bit o' Ireland.
