I go tonight.
He does not love me, but oh his tears will flow tonight.
I cannot leave my sons, so they must die tonight.
Their cold bodies in this house will lie tonight.
Don't look at me with such horror, such disgust-
I do only what I must.
I gave him everything I had to give.
I betrayed my father so this pig could live.
And what have I to show for all my pains?
I am exiled, sent away to live in shame.
I go tonight,
But only because all has been made right.
All debts are paid,
His wife is in her grave.
I will not take his gold, his tactless bribe.
Deep within me, I still have my pride.
I go tonight.
The gods will speed me on, for they know I'm right.
And Nemesis, my righteous goddess divine,
Has given me the pleasure of knowing
Vengeance is mine.
