Words Left Unsaid
A poem dedicated to my late father whom I miss very much.

I was angry when I left and
wouldn't tell you goodbye.
You left me forever
two days later and
didn't tell me goodbye.

So many words
left unsaid.
So many actions
left undone.

I didn't thank you
for protecting me.
I took for granted
you'd always be there.

My worst fear realized
the night I got the call.
Night terrors consumed me
for months on end.

It's been seven years now
the anger is gone,
the pain still remains.

I miss you every day
and wait for the dreams
where I can see you
again.
