Describing My Muse

I know it’s cliché; but when
I try to describe your lips,
Slightly parted, sensuous,
I think cherries, lush, bursting,
Dipped in nectar, enticing,
Seeking this, my wanting mouth.

Aphrodisiac to love,
Your perfume envelops me.
Closer, closer, your face blurs
as your lips, hungry, find mine.
Your scent, your warmth, your body,
Falls into my waiting arms.

I pause, look into your eyes.
(It’s all been written before.)
Dark, languid pools of mystery.
I fall deeper and deeper,
swirling, reeling, careening,
I am drawn into your being.

Souls unite in harmony,
Where lie your hidden fears.
I see the scared, naked child,
The struggling adolescent,
The lover and the mother,
All come together, as you.

You tempt and nourish my mind.
You encourage and seduce,
Entertain me with stories,
Of amazement and wonder.
Your voice, soft, shy, curious,
Leaves my heart, my nerves tingling.

My muse, gateway to my mind,
Where everything may happen,
Where nothing is forbidden,
Let us romp naked in fields,
Splash in cool, sparkling water,
Embrace on cool, green meadows.

I hunger for your moist lips.
I pull you closer, tighter.
We melt into each other.
Your thoughts, my thoughts are entwined.
You have now become my voice,
My muse, gateway to my mind.
