Broken dreams
Free verse about an alcoholic woman

Portrait of a mad drown.
She hates her niece
jealous of the young girl's beauty.
She resents - despises her nephew
for his young eyes echo her past.
She longs to kill her sister
for living a broken dream.
All this reflects back to her
from a glass of hard dark liquid.
So young.
So broken.
She sits alone on her porch.
Crying.
A disturbed poem of Disney dreams
before her.
With each sip she signs
"The sun will come out tomorrow."
Drowning into the drink
where no sun rises.
"Can't sleep because of bells!"
She yells with each swallow.
Pulling hair
tears flow free
love and hate in a 16 oz bottle.
"Truth serum." She whispers
looking deep into the liquid
While the children hide
she shares a blindside of
her sisters broken dream.
