My Melancholy Mind
Written as a teenager, at times it still applies.

My heart cries for the injustice created,
My sould bleeds for the wrongs they've done.
Tears of sorrow;
Tears of pain;
No more sun, only rain.

Shouts of anger fill the air,
Shouts of sorrow and despair,
Cries of hurt;
Cries of shame;
Now there's one more problem to explain.

Why can't I forgive and forget,
The sorrow, pain,
And regret?
Sometimes life seems to pass me by,
Like two birds flying in the sky.

I know someday my world will brighten--
I know someday my pain will end.
Joy and peace shall come my way;
Happiness and glory everyday.
But just now please let me by--
For right now I want to cry.
