FALSE PEACE
Snow white like virgin cotton Now covering up the ground ‘Tis frost in the cold night air That causes a snapping sound. ~ Soon winter will be over We’ll be wooed by springtime charm As the leaves appear once more In our land supremely calm. ~ With the brooks overflowing As the world should – toward love The olive branch offered again This time - carried by a dove ~ Sight of green mountains rolling Whispering wind in a tree First flower of spring blooming A false peace for you and me. 2/16/07 Monty 7 syllable – abcb scheme
