The Potions Curse

The day is done, the curse is won,
My lover soon will die,
I caught him in another’s arms,
Ensnared him in his lie.

He said he’d love me ‘till he died,
His deceit will be his pain,
The anguish he has bourn to me
Will be his final bane.

The Witch of Devil’s Hollow
Took pity on my slight,
And offered me a potion,
Fashioned with evil sight.

The crimson color of the brew,
Resembles its victims blood,
And as I slip it in his wine,
My passion begins to flood.

My mind is overwhelmed
With feelings from my past,
And promises he made to me.
Oaths that wouldn’t last.

Into this lethal potion,
I put my lovers fate,
For all his lies and tretchery
Have turned my love to hate.

When he drinks the wine tonight,
I’ll ask him one more time,
To tell me if it’s me he loves,
Or another for whom he pines.

If to me he tells the truth,
His life the potion spares,
But if he lies, the magic works,
And traps him in its lare.

The day is done, the curse is won,
My lover soon will die,
Truth once more evades his tongue,
He’s gripped within his lie.

His heart to stone, his tongue to ash,
His blood is frozen ice,
The potion knows his hateful lie,
And dealt the painful price.
