I Give Up (on hating you)
We list our names by numbers until we get old and once there we forget about our souls

You ran away.
You gave up.
You made me think I wasnt good enough
to so much as dream at all.
Once apon a time, to long ago to tell,
You made me laugh, you made me smile.
But you've not done that,
Now have you? Not in quite a while.

Words dry up and
Facards can fade away.
But no matter what those
weather beaten memories will stay.
And that's why I give up on hating you.

Good days come,
Back and forth,
And each and every day we take another path
to lead our way somewhere new.
But the lights have dimmed, on a darkened room,
Listing names by numbers til we get old,
One, two, three, four and
Once we're counted in we forget our souls.

Words dry up and
Facards can fade away
But no matter what those
Weather beaten memories will stay.
And that's why I give up on hating you.

Paper planes
And plastic toys,
Little chips of the past that were something in your eyes
once in a different time.
And the burnt fingers with quick fixes, in the back
Seemingly more intrinsic
To your beating heart
Than me or us or anything as complex.

So?

What do you want me to say?
That we should take a little time?
Give me an answer.
Make sure it's the same as mine.
But god don't tell the truth.

Words dry up and
Facards can fade away
But no matter what those
Weather beaten memories will stay.
And that's why I give up on hating you.

That's why I give up on hating you.
That's why I give up on hating you.
