black are my tears
soliciting ennui a raven’s cry breaking the silence of my heart no longer sweet and innocent to my pain comes a yellowing numbness unforgettable moments blur my vision I cannot turn them into simple nightmare there is no more welcome to the never-land inspired by your kisses your body heat your sensuality — that’s inviolate now as well as your smile which bears a never-ending rictus of I told you so these blessed illusions of perfect harmony made my soul buoyant and turned me into a believer of love and a victim of hate oh folly! your sticky need abused my generosity my innocence my youth mocking, you let me fall into your arms my illusions spent until you dropped me from our seventh heaven at mach speed I dream away the years of falling waking sweating as I remember the pain of your black and blue eternity which should have been so perfect it has rotten my soul to bleakness lie to me lie with me take me in your arms one last time and give me the chance to say I still love you falling, at mach speed [2007.28.2…b] Written for the Shattered Poetry Contest
