Gravestone touch
She'd never love again. He would. But she's at his gravestone...

So softly standing in the wind
With hair of golden blonde
Eyes tear filled, the memories
As others stand beyond

“Never leave, I hate you!
I’ll see you not before
The hell fire, the angels wings
Come knocking at my door

“And with the words, I give to you
While memories remain.
So be sure I won’t see you
I’ll never love again.
Heed the words I give to you
I’ll never love again.”

Her elbows bent, her palms crossed tight
The bluer skies turned black
The clouds above, they cover us
As I stand, crying back.

“I said to you no lie I tell
In the one we are the same.
You stand before, you even swore
You’ll never love again!”

“Not I be here in tender cheer
Till death do parting not.
And while you lie, I stand here
No memories forgot.”

“We’ll trust our love, I gave to you
and listen as I speak.
We marry for eternity
Not day nor month or week”

Silence came, the dark remained
As we stood up on the hill
Looking round, the stone filled ground
Memories stood still.

“I leave, you left, farewell to love
In grievence just the same
And hold these words I give to you
I’ll never love again.”
“Wife, I prey now listen heed
There is no need for maim
I love you, my trust in you
Why never love again?”

The ground, so sound, began to change
New grass lay low our feet
The stone around, made sense now
As I began to weep.

We never met upon this ground
Not many years ago
Clothing changed, souls remained
Statues began to show.

“You left me!” “No I beg of you
I didn’t understand
The ground beneath, the place we meet
I know now this land

“I didn’t know, please don’t go
My love for you remains
I swear to you, you swear to me
You’ll never love again!”

She lifted palms, so gently
And kissed the dark gravestone
They moved out of the cemetery
Grievance they did show

An accident, fatality
I understand the change
It be not I hold her
Only memories remain

Song so sweet, stop your feet
For I fear I bind in chains
As you say I fear to see
I cannot love again.
I’ll see you, you wont see me.
You’ll never love again.
Realise now upon this ground
You’ll never love again
But understand, I’d take your hand.
My love for you remains.
