I Secretly Bestow
By Dairesse L. English There are moments when time slows and the winds of a summer heat pass over me like a season. There are moments when just a glance upon you steals all wisdom, thought, and reason. When you walk near me, the air you stir brushes against my skin and I notice every gesture, every blink of your eye. You carry yourself strong and proud luring young flatteries close, for I am not the only one who longs for an adoring reply. Your large eyes offer light where there are shadows and rain taps on windows. Your consideration is a comfort when there is loneliness and a cold wind blows. Wrapping within your laugh and smile I feel nothing except bless followed by the absence of fulfillment. Bathing in the dreams of you, sooths wishful thinking but leaves behind the imprint of forbearing contentment. Standing here without the candlelight to set before you my affection in a depicting glow, I will whisper sweet sentiments and all of my love to you I secretly bestow. -End-
