Shades of Red

You walk in and throw your towel down
You push me aside
Ignoring me
You’re mad
Period

Now
You smile
Talking again
I push you away
I walk past you and out the door

You call out to me, asking me to return
You yell absurd words
Upbraiding me
You’re angry
Always

Finally
You frown
Silencing me
I can’t take it
I want to go far away from this place

Shades of Anger slowly begin to rise
Seething behind our eyes
Your Hate
My Bitterness
Again

Enough
My Rage
Your Fury
Destroys who we are
We must let go of this together, forever
